Welcome to our new Regulatory and Procurement Manager
We're pleased to welcome Lisa Sabev, who joined us in August as our Regulatory and Procurement Manager. Lisa brings over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, along with a clear understanding of what it takes to bring quality medicines to market.
Lisa leads our Regulatory Affairs team, guiding our partners through Botswana's regulatory requirements and supporting their product registrations. She also heads up procurement, making sure we source from manufacturers we can trust, so the products on our shelves are compliant, authentic and available when you need them.
For our manufacturing partners and suppliers, Lisa is now your first point of contact for regulatory and procurement matters. You can reach her at lisa@medswana.co.bw or +267 398 5210.
Welcome to the team, Lisa. We're excited to have you on board.

Meet our new look
As we step into our new chapter as Medswana Laborex, we've refreshed our look to match. The DNA helix that served us since 1994 makes way for the Laborex orb, a symbol of the connected, pan-African network we're now part of, paired with a clean, modern wordmark in navy and emerald.
Alongside our name you'll also see With Africa For Africa, the signature shared across the CFAO Healthcare network and a reminder of why we do what we do.
Over the coming months you'll start to see the new identity across our website, invoices and correspondence. Our phone numbers and banking details stay exactly the same.
A new look, the same team and the same commitment to getting the right medicines to you, on time.

Our CEO sits down with Penresa and Forbes Africa
Mark Fallows, our Chief Executive Officer, recently sat down with Penresa for the upcoming Forbes Africa Botswana 2027 Special Report, which showcases the leaders and businesses helping to grow and diversify Botswana's economy.
Mark spoke about how we're strengthening medicine availability and supply-chain efficiency, the new opportunities our partnership with CFAO Healthcare brings, and our focus on developing local talent and building meaningful partnerships.
“The real measure of growth is the positive impact a company makes on the healthcare sector and the people it serves.”Mark Fallows, Chief Executive Officer
Thank you to Penresa and Forbes Africa for a great conversation. Keep an eye out for the full feature in the special report.

Medswana becomes Medswana Laborex
We're proud to share that CFAO Healthcare, the healthcare division of the CFAO Group, has acquired a 75% stake in Medswana. We now operate as Medswana Laborex, part of CFAO Healthcare's pan-African Laborex network.
For our clients and suppliers, the things that matter most stay the same: the same team, the same contacts and the same reliable service. What grows is the strength behind us, with access to the Group's expertise in quality, regulatory compliance and logistics.
The move also brings a change in leadership. After many years at the helm, Piet le Grange has retired, and Mark Fallows, previously our Head of Operations, has stepped up as Chief Executive Officer.
“We chose CFAO Healthcare as our partner because we share the same vision, strong ethical values and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes. Together, we're better placed to meet the evolving needs of the people of Botswana.”Mark Fallows, Chief Executive Officer
We're excited about this new chapter and look forward to continuing to serve you, with the strength of a pan-African network behind us. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Celebrating Botswana Independence Day
For Independence Day 2023, the office turned blue, black and white as our team dressed in the national colours, from T-shirts to traditional attire and accessories.
Lunch was a spread of Tswana favourites, including seswaa and bogobe. The afternoon turned playful with traditional games like “safe” and “koi”, and a heartfelt chorus of “dikhwaere” that had everyone joining in. The competitive spirit was high, but the joy of playing together was the real fun.
Above all, it was a proud reminder of Botswana's journey toward freedom, unity and progress, and of the bond and diversity that make our team what it is.

Spring Day: our team in full bloom
Spring Day 2023 had the office buzzing. Our team showed up in every colour of the season, from sunny yellows and fresh greens to bright pinks, and it felt like we'd brought the sunshine indoors.
An impromptu photo shoot quickly became the highlight of the day, with plenty of smiles, laughter and a few quirky poses.
Spring is a season of growth, and the day was also a moment to reflect. We celebrated our achievements, acknowledged our challenges and set our sights on the opportunities ahead.
Here's to the amazing team we have, the positive energy that fills our workplace, and blooming into the best versions of ourselves.
